Adamawa State Police Commissioner, CP Dankombo Morris, has condemned the recent kidnapping incident in Mayokila Village, Mapeo District, Jada Local Government Area.

The attack, which occurred in the early hours of February 17, 2025, saw a gang of unknown gunmen storm the village, firing sporadically before abducting four individuals, including Abubakar Sadiq Umar (a.k.a. Haske), a staff member at Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola.

The Adamawa State Police Command received a distress call around 3:30 AM, prompting Dankombo to deploy a specialized tactical team to reinforce officers at Kojoli Division in a coordinated search-and-rescue mission. The police have vowed to leave no stone unturned in ensuring the safe return of the victims and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Command reassured the public of its commitment to restoring security in the affected area. Residents of Jada LGA have been urged to cooperate with law enforcement agents and report any suspicious activity to facilitate the swift rescue of the kidnapped individuals.

Dankombo also called for increased vigilance within communities, emphasizing the importance of timely information sharing with security operatives to curb criminal activities. The police have reiterated their determination to dismantle criminal networks operating within the state and ensure the safety of all residents.

The attack in Mayokila highlights the growing security challenges in Adamawa State, with authorities intensifying efforts to counter the menace of kidnapping and related crimes. As the manhunt continues, the police have assured the public of their unwavering commitment to justice and the protection of lives and property.
