Ademola Lookman has joined Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Atlético Madrid’s Alexander Sørloth in a rare statistical club, the only three players to register four goal contributions in a single half during the 2024–25 season across Europe’s top five leagues.

The Nigeria international was electric during Atalanta’s 6-1 rout of Hellas Verona on October 26, netting twice and providing two assists all before halftime. It was the highlight of a stunning season in which the 27-year-old scored 20 goals and added 7 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.

According to StatMuse, only Palmer who scored all four goals in Chelsea’s 4-2 win over Brighton and Sørloth who netted four in 30 minutes for Atlético Madrid matched that productivity in one half.

Lookman’s performances included goals against Juventus, AC Milan, Roma, and Serie A champions Napoli, underlining his knack for big moments.

However, despite his brilliant campaign, Lookman’s future at Atlanta is uncertain. Reports suggest a summer exit is possible, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Napoli, and Juventus all circling.

CaughtOffside reports Arsenal have already submitted a €50 million plus bonuses bid, including Jakub Kiwior in a player-plus-cash deal. Atalanta, however, are holding out for €65–€70 million.

Lookman’s absence from Atalanta’s first pre-season training session has only fuelled speculation. While the Italian club reportedly wants to double his salary and add a release clause to his new contract, Liverpool is also said to be preparing a formal approach.

The reigning Africa Footballer of the Year is one of Europe’s hottest properties, and whether he remains in Bergamo or makes a Premier League return could define the next chapter of his soaring career.
