The Kano-Jigawa branch of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has applauded the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals for its role in reviving struggling industries across the country.
Speaking at the ongoing MAN Annual Products Exhibition at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, the branch chairman, Muhammad Bello Isyaku Umar, said the refinery’s intervention in lowering diesel prices and ensuring steady availability of petroleum products has brought relief to manufacturers grappling with high energy costs.
“These measures are already helping dying companies come back to life by reducing production expenses, stabilising operations, and sustaining jobs,” Umar noted, adding that affordable diesel is especially crucial for small and medium-scale industries outside the national grid or in areas with erratic power supply.
He described the refinery as a “game-changer” for Nigeria’s industrial sector, stressing that it not only supports existing firms but also lays a foundation for growth, competitiveness, and self-reliance.
The exhibition, themed “Made in Nigeria: Revitalising Local Industries for Economic Growth”, featured Dangote Industries Limited as one of its major sponsors. Dangote products on display included cement, sugar, salt, seasoning, and fertiliser.
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by Commissioner of Commerce and Industry Shehu Wada Sagagi, praised MAN for sustaining a platform where local producers can showcase innovation, resilience, and creativity.
Participants also highlighted Dangote Group’s broader contributions to Nigeria’s economy through job creation, infrastructure development, tax revenues, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Umar disclosed that MAN is already exploring new areas of partnership with Dangote Refinery to enhance energy supply and drive nationwide industrial growth.
