The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Felix Omatsola Ogbe, has called on indigenous oil and gas service firms to expand into deepwater operations, citing vast opportunities in the sector.

Ogbe made the appeal on Tuesday during a tour of West African Ventures’ (WAV) Fabrication Yard and facilities at the Federal Ocean Terminal, Onne, Rivers State. He praised WAV’s advanced capacity, including its rolling mill, ocean-going vessels, and offshore logistics base, describing the company as “a very good Nigerian firm.”

WAV Managing Director, Michael Dumbi Amaeshike, said the firm has operated for over 40 years and trained many industry professionals, but called for stronger support to boost patronage.
