The Nigeria-Britain Association (N-BA) has unveiled plans for the 2025 edition of its annual Nigeria Independence Day celebration in the United Kingdom, with this year’s theme, “Nigeria & the UK: Building Bridges, Creating Futures.”

According to a statement released on Tuesday, the event will not only spotlight Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage but also deepen socio-economic and cultural connections between the two countries through exhibitions, networking opportunities, and collaborative exchanges.

President of the association, Sola Oyetayo, said the 2025 gathering would be especially memorable as it marks the first appearance of the association’s newly installed patron, former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku.

“This year’s event is the fifth in a row and continues our tradition of strengthening the longstanding bond between Nigeria and the UK,” Oyetayo noted. “It is made even more meaningful by the presence of our patron, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, who will headline courtesy visits that are central to the celebration.”

The association confirmed that Air Peace, Fidelity Bank Plc, Dangote Industries Limited, and BK90 Restaurant & Lounge are official sponsors of the 2025 edition. Air Peace will serve as the airline partner, providing discounted flights for delegates, while Fidelity Bank is supporting international partnership initiatives. Dangote Industries’ involvement reflects its commitment to Nigeria’s global presence, and BK90 will handle entertainment contributions.

The event is expected to draw prominent Nigerians, diplomats, business leaders, entertainers, and officials from both the Nigerian and British governments.

Founded in 1969, the Nigeria-Britain Association has remained a platform for fostering cultural dialogue, promoting business collaboration, and advancing social impact initiatives between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
