Nigeria Minister of Justice Commissions NDLEA Barracks in Yola

In a significant move to bolster Nigeria’s security infrastructure, the Minister of Justice, Chief Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, SAN, officially commissioned a new barracks for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Yola today. The inauguration ceremony drew top government officials, security chiefs, and community leaders, highlighting the importance of the new facility.

Addressing attendees, the Chairman and CEO of NDLEA, Rtd Brigadier General Buba Marwa, emphasized the critical role of the barracks in enhancing the welfare and operational effectiveness of NDLEA personnel.

“This barracks is a testament to our commitment to strengthening security infrastructure and ensuring that our officers have a conducive environment to carry out their duties effectively,” Marwa stated.

The newly commissioned barracks boasts modern residential quarters, administrative offices, and recreational facilities. These improvements aim to enhance the living conditions of officers and their families, ultimately improving their efficiency in tackling drug-related crimes.

This project aligns with the broader national agenda set by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to reinforce security measures and uplift the morale of personnel serving in various capacities. By providing better infrastructure and welfare support, the government aims to enhance the effectiveness of security agencies across the country.

Local stakeholders and residents welcomed the initiative, recognizing it as a crucial step toward a more secure and drug-free society. The commissioning of the NDLEA barracks in Yola underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to support law enforcement agencies in their fight against drug abuse and trafficking, ensuring a safer future for all Nigerians.
