In a groundbreaking move set to accelerate Nigeria’s digital transformation, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), leading FinTech giant Flutterwave, and tech innovator Alami Technologies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive innovation, enhance digital literacy, and boost infrastructure development across the country.

The partnership aims to foster public-private collaboration, bridging gaps in digital payments and tech financing. By aligning resources and expertise, the trio seeks to empower Nigeria’s burgeoning tech ecosystem, providing critical support for startups, SMEs, and digital entrepreneurs.

One of the highlights of this collaboration will be Digital Nigeria Week 2025, a premier event dedicated to showcasing cutting-edge innovations, spotlighting emerging tech talents, and creating opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises to thrive in a rapidly evolving market.

“This partnership is more than just a milestone — it’s a testament to our shared vision for a digitally inclusive Nigeria,” said a spokesperson from NITDA. “Together, we will support initiatives that drive economic growth, bolster entrepreneurship, and strengthen our cybersecurity landscape.”

    Key areas of focus include:

    • Strengthening public-private partnerships to enhance digital payment solutions and broaden access to tech financing.
    • Promoting digital literacy and upskilling programs to equip Nigerians with the tools to succeed in a global tech-driven economy.
    • Advancing cybersecurity initiatives to safeguard Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and foster trust in online platforms.

The MoU signifies a bold step toward establishing Nigeria as a leading digital economy in Africa. With the combined efforts of NITDA, Flutterwave, and Alami Technologies, the nation is poised to harness the full potential of technology to drive sustainable development and global competitiveness.
