Nigeria’s former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has pledged to accompany Governor Bala Mohammed anywhere in the world to attract investments for Bauchi State.

Obasanjo made the pledge while commissioning the newly built Sir Ahmadu Bello International Conference Centre (ICC) during the Bauchi Investment Summit on Wednesday. He described the centre as a world-class facility capable of turning Bauchi into a major hub for tourism, conferences, and economic activities.

“With what we have, we can show the world that we are part and parcel of global development,” Obasanjo said, adding that the state must leverage the facility to mobilise both local and international investments.

Governor Bala Mohammed said the ICC represents a symbol of collective achievement and economic vision, stressing that Bauchi’s abundant natural resources and ongoing business reforms position the state for growth.

The CEO of Architectronix Nigeria Ltd, Ruben Okoya, said the 10,000-square-metre facility, built entirely with local resources and expertise, can host 3,000 people and multiple events simultaneously.

The Bauchi Investment Summit, attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima (representing President Bola Tinubu), state governors, traditional rulers, and global investors, aims to attract new investments and integrate Bauchi into the national and global economy.
