Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited has launched its Southern Swamp Associated Gas Solutions project in Delta State, adding about 100 million standard cubic feet of gas per day to the domestic market. The facility also anchors future development within the Tunu Node, estimated at 820 million barrels of oil equivalent.

Managing Director Tony Attah described the project as a major step in ending routine flaring across the company’s Tunu, Opukushi, Benisede and Ogbotobo operations. He said the gas output can power thousands of homes and strengthen industrial growth while creating jobs along the supply chain.

Attah noted that over 90 percent of the work was executed in Nigeria, boosting local content and community participation. The infrastructure, he said, positions Renaissance to support energy security and long-term industrialization.

Chief Production Officer Mesh Maichibi said the system channels production into four flow stations and exports through the Trans Ramos Pipeline to Forcados, reinforcing Nigeria’s flare-out commitments. He added that the project will supply more than 30 percent of gas in the domestic network, with links to the Escravos–Lagos Pipeline System and an alternative route to NLNG in Bonny.

Community leaders welcomed the project, praising job opportunities and improved relations with host communities.

Since inception, SSAGS has delivered about 158 billion scf of gas, including 98 billion scf to the domestic network and 60.1 billion scf to NLNG.
