Former Senate Leader and Borno South Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume has applauded President Bola Tinubu for appointing individuals from all three Northern geopolitical zones to strategic federal government positions.

The recent appointments include 12 Northerners to key roles such as Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani (Zamfara) as Managing Director of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), and Alhaji Hamza Ibrahim Baba (Kano) as Programme Manager of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP).

Ndume, who had earlier voiced concerns over appointment imbalances violating the Federal Character principle, acknowledged the President’s responsiveness and willingness to adjust following constructive criticism.

“President Tinubu is someone who is open to constructive feedback… The hallmark of a good leader is the ability to adjust when decisions are met with widespread disapproval,” Ndume said.

He urged the newly appointed officials to justify the trust placed in them and reiterated his loyalty to President Tinubu, pledging to continue providing oversight as a lawmaker.
