Thailand is launching a new tourism campaign that will give free domestic flight tickets to foreign visitors between September and November 2025, pending cabinet approval.

The initiative, titled “Buy International, Free Thailand Domestic Flights”, will distribute 200,000 free round-trip tickets through six airlines, including Thai Airways, Thai AirAsia, and Bangkok Airways.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports said the government will subsidise up to 3,500 baht per ticket, with a total budget of 700 million baht. Officials project the move could generate 8.8 billion baht in tourism revenue by encouraging travellers to explore destinations beyond Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai.

So far in 2025, Thailand has welcomed 20.8 million tourists, a 7% drop compared to last year, with China remaining the top source of arrivals.
