The North Journals, an emerging independent media platform, has announced a nationwide call for volunteer contributors as it expands its commitment to community-centered journalism and research-driven storytelling.

In a statement released this week, the platform invited writers, researchers, student journalists, community reporters, columnists, and academic scholars to join its growing network of contributors. The initiative is aimed at amplifying underrepresented voices and uncovering untold stories from communities across Nigeria.

“We believe journalism should reflect the realities, concerns, and aspirations of the communities it serves,” said Aminu Adamu, Managing Editor of The North Journals. “This is a unique opportunity for writers and thinkers—both seasoned and emerging—to be part of something bigger, to inform, inspire, and influence through storytelling.”

Volunteers will have the opportunity to publish feature articles and opinion pieces, report on local events, present academic research in accessible formats, and collaborate with an editorial team dedicated to impactful journalism. Contributors will also benefit from editorial guidance, portfolio development, and increased visibility.

While the roles are volunteer-based, they offer aspiring and experienced writers alike a platform to make a difference through informed and inclusive storytelling. The North Journals places a strong emphasis on Northern perspectives, but the call is open to voices from across Nigeria, regardless of background or location.

Interested individuals can express interest by emailing thenorthjournals@gmail.com or visiting the official website at www.thenorthjournals.com.

    About The North Journals:
The North Journals is an independent media organization focused on thoughtful reporting, inclusive storytelling, and in-depth research on issues affecting communities in Nigeria’s North and beyond.
