The Tinubu Media Force (TMF) has urged state governors to take immediate action to address rising food prices and deepen investments in education, healthcare, and skills training.

Speaking after a strategic meeting in Lagos, TMF National Coordinator, Gbenga Abiola, said state governments must align with President Bola Tinubu’s economic agenda, which emphasizes human capital, food security, and affordable public services.

“Governors need to invest in their people. Education, healthcare, and skills are the foundation for long-term prosperity,” Abiola said.

He highlighted the urgent need to combat inflation and hunger by creating food hubs at the regional, state, and local government levels. These hubs, he explained, would help regulate food prices through bulk buying and streamlined logistics.

“Establishing food hubs can protect poor households from inflation and ensure price stability,” he added, pointing to Lagos State’s food supply chain model as a success story that could be adapted by others.

TMF also called on states to embrace the Federal Government’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative. Abiola said the deployment of state-level CNG refueling stations and integration of CNG buses into local transport systems would help cut commuting costs and support green energy goals.

“This is an opportunity for governors to cut transport costs by up to 50%, create jobs, and reduce emissions,” he said.

According to him, the Federal Government has already distributed 64 CNG buses and attracted over $791 million in investments to grow the sector.

Abiola reaffirmed the group’s support for the Renewed Hope Agenda and called for stronger collaboration between federal and state governments.

“This is the time to act invest in people, reduce everyday costs, and innovate for a better future,” he added.
