    The Yobe State government has procured 2,000 metric tons of assorted Grains for Strategic plan Reserve, to be distributed during the off-season or in case of emergencies.

    Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Ali Mustapha Goniri, made the disclosure during an inspection of the assorted grains procured by Yobe State Government.

    Alh. Goniri express optimism about the initiative, emphasizing that the 2,000 metric tons of assorted grains will be distributed to people of the state during the off-season or in case of emergencies.

    The commissioner revealed that government has also procured assorted agrochemicals, which will be distributed to support irrigation farming and vegetable cultivation.

    He announced plans to provide cassava stems to farmers, to promote cassava farming in the state, noting the economic importance, medicinal purposes, and natural food ingredients.

    Correspondent Abdulazeez Mala reports that the commissioner commended the present administration’s unwavering commitment to support the agricultural sector, underscoring its dedication to enhancing food security and empowering farmers.
