The office of the National Youth Leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has constituted a planning committee to organise a nationwide seminar aimed at preparing youth and women aspiring for political offices within the party.
In an appointment letter dated March 6, 2026, the National Youth Leader of the party, Balarabe Rufa’i, announced the formation of the committee to coordinate a two-day Nationwide Aspirants’ Seminar focused on promoting 35 per cent youth and 35 per cent women participation in the party’s political processes.
The initiative, according to the letter issued from the Office of the National Youth Leader, is designed to equip aspiring candidates with the knowledge and guidance required to effectively navigate the party’s internal processes while strengthening inclusive political participation.
“The appointment recognises your experience and commitment to the party and entrusts you with the responsibility to plan and coordinate a two-day seminar aimed at preparing credible youth and women aspirants,” the statement noted.
The committee has been tasked with overseeing the planning, organisation and execution of the seminar, as well as mobilising youth and women aspirants across the country to ensure broad participation.
Other responsibilities include coordinating logistics, protocol and documentation, supporting fundraising and financial planning, and providing regular progress reports to the National Youth and Women Leadership of the party.
The committee will be chaired by Abel Abaji, while Aminu Adamu will serve as Secretary General.
Other members include Joseph Enan Maigari as Publicity Secretary, Juliet Waazor Laba as Financial Secretary, and Sani Saeed Altukry, who will oversee Protocol, Hospitality and Special Duties.
The party leadership noted that additional members would be incorporated into sub-committees to ensure the smooth implementation of the seminar.
The appointments take immediate effect and will remain valid until the successful conduct of the seminar and submission of a final report to the National Youth Leadership of the party.
The seminar is part of ADC’s broader internal efforts to strengthen youth and women participation in Nigeria’s political process while preparing aspirants ahead of future elections.
