In a night that will go down in football history, Arsenal Women defeated Barcelona Women 1-0 to clinch the UEFA Women’s Champions League title, ending their 17-year wait for European glory.
The decisive goal came in the second half, when Stina Blackstenius latched onto a perfectly timed through-ball from Kim Little, calmly slotting it past Barça keeper Cata Coll. It was a moment of brilliance that capped off a disciplined, tactical masterclass from the Gunners.
Barcelona, the reigning champions and heavy favorites going into the final, were stunned by Arsenal’s relentless pressing and defensive composure.
