The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has approved the dismissal of two Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) officers Aliyu Usman and Chukwu Nancy Ngozi over proven allegations of kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, stealing, and illegal possession of firearms.
According to a statement issued by the Board, the decision followed internal disciplinary proceedings concluded on April 14 and September 4, 2025.
The Board also revealed that 31 disciplinary cases involving NIS officers were reviewed during a session held on July 11 by its Disciplinary and General-Purpose Committee. Following the review, eight officers were dismissed for serious misconduct, five compulsorily retired, eight demoted, and five issued warning letters. Two appeals were rejected, one officer reinstated, and two others exonerated.
The CDCFIB reiterated its commitment to enforcing discipline and ethical conduct within the Immigration Service, stressing that all actions were taken “without fear or favour” and in accordance with service regulations.
